Students who get the minimum credits for receiving a degree may graduate early; 6 months maximum for master’s and doctoral students and 1 year maximum for integrative Courses students.

Students who cannot acquire their degrees within the prescribed time limit are expelled. If a student has a valid reason, he/she may extend their period within 2 semesters at maximum. (The student should go through the deliberation of the Graduate Committee if he/she wants to extend the prescribed time limit)

At the end of every semester
Not enrolled post-coursework semester is also included in the Study Duration(Prescribe Time Limit)
If International students do not enroll after completing coursework, their VISA extension can be limited. UST will consider student who do not apply for the Post-Coursework enrollment has left Korea and report to the Immigration Control accordingly.
Guidance will be provided if the Post-Courework Tuition Fee is set to be charged.

Each type of special leave of absence is given additional period regardless applicant’s academic course.
Freshmen can not apply for general and start-up leave of absence.
Credit(s) can be given when applicant made more than 3/4 of the semester.
When leave of absence occurs after applicant make tuition payment, refund can be made.

Students who receive the approval for leave after the semester begins can receive a tuition refund according to the tuition return standard of the payment regulation.
Students who are expelled after the semester begins can receive a tuition refund according to the tuition return standard of the payment regulation
When a student is expelled by the university, the university can ask the student for a repayment of benefit expenses according to the regulation for benefit expense refund standard.

Those who cannot be readmitted
When the readmission process is completed, part or all of the student's previous credits can be redeemed after the agreement of the (prospective)academic advisor, major professor, and dean.
The period of attendance for students who are readmitted is reckoned based on the student’s first day of the course.

A student can apply for changing his/her major using the method above if he/she has to change the campus to change his/her department/major.
This integrative course allows students to acquire a doctorate degree directly without submitting a master’s thesis or going through the doctorate admission process.
It is an examination for a student who newly started the integrative course and completed at least 2 semesters. The student should pass this exam before completing the fourth semester in order for his/her course to be admitted as a doctoral course.
